Let it go

Healthy acceptance is a result of hard work.

It’s easy to ruminate over things you want changed that will never change. We can replay events where if you only did this one thing differently none of this would be an issue. That dance leads to frustration and powerless exhaustion. Or raging anger. Or depression. Or choosing healthy acceptance which will set you free. Not easy but so worth it.

  1. I journal my thoughts so that I can examine them in the cold light of day. Once on paper they no longer continue to ruminate. They are still scary but they exist outside of my self. It also slows down the thoughts and lets me determine if what I am thinking has any validity. Living mindfully keeps my mind in the present. The past is done, the future is impossible to predict…the present state is the only reality I accept. It’s not easy, but by meditating I can further slow my brain down.

    1. This is my first reply out of WordPress. Testing—heh.
